An Overview:

Equinox,The Entrepreneurship Cell of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore endeavors to go beyond the realms of possibilities in getting big ideas to work. The most prominent feature of this club is to associate with the start-up league where the members of the student fraternity can interact with the budding honchos. The following are the club’s engagements through the year.

Live Projects:

One of the key activities of the club includes collaborating for Live Projects with budding start-ups. Through this we invite start-ups from various domains to collaborate with Equinox to look for live project opportunities that the members as well as class participants at NMIMS can make the most of. These projects are of immense help in bridging the gap between theory and practice, especially in a landscape that is becoming increasingly Entrepreneurial in nature.

Start-up Grind:

The major event organized by Equinox is Start-up grind wherein eminent founders and co-founders such as Mr.Vipul Parekh, Founder of Big-Basket, Mr.Hari Nair, Founder of HolidayIQ, Ms.Pallavi Gupta, Co-Founder of Mast Kalander etc. are invited every month to share their views and experiences to help enthusiasts building great companies from scratch. The platform enables many aspirants who want to start something of their own in the near future to get in touch with the founder and learn from them.

EN-PLUG,the Annual Entrepreneurship Summit:

On January 17, 2016, The Entrepreneurship Cell – Equinox of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore organized The Annual Entrepreneurship Summit EN-PLUG 2016. The maiden E-Summit at NMIMS saw a merger of some of the most path-breaking business plans from different domains and insights from some of the most celebrated names from the start-up community of Bangalore. EN-PLUG started with the final round of the Pan India B-Plan competition with the six shortlisted teams that sustained a rigorous selection process before making it through to present at the summit. E-summit is an endeavor of NMIMS, Bangalore which aims to engage venture capitalists, founders, students, corporate, co-founders and budding entrepreneurs in order to facilitate knowledge and experience sharing. The teams came up with interesting solutions to painpoints in spaces like green technology, travel, content sharing, sustainable farming and social healthcare.

The B-Plan competition was followed by a panel discussion. The esteemed panelists and judges at the event were Manishh Anand, Founder of Utilis Capital Advisors, Kroc Flint & Candler and Chairman of Lamb Smith &Raskob, Rahul Agarwal, Co-founder and CEO at Mebelkart Technologies, Ankit Rawal, General Manager – India at Inmobi, Kushal Agarwal, Co-founder of Giftxoxo and Frogo, AnkurVerma, Sr Manager – EiR Program at Venture Factory by i2india, Rajeev Banduni Co-founder and CEO at GrowthEnabler Global, Hiren Doshi, Head of Business Development at Amazon India, Anupam Mishra, Co-Founder and CEO at Autotygr and Professor Harsh Vardhan from faculty of Strategy and Competition at NMIMS Bangalore and Co-founder of Strategic Marketing Group. The theme of the panel discussion was the “Role of Entrepreneurs in the Success of Make in India”. The maiden E-summit was a grand success and we wish to take it to greater heights this year.

As we foray into these activities and more in the coming year, the club endeavors to foster a strong network of start-up founders and enthusiasts. Further, we would be establishing an on campus incubator this year to build start-ups from scratch!
